I am sure this has been covered but.......I have just shy of 5000 FF miles in Onepass ( Continental) I rarely fly this airline. Is there anything to do with these miles besides buy magazines and donation? (ie. transfer to another FF program.) Hilton seems to be a possibility but I do not have enough miles to make the transaction..........

It has been covered -- in the Continental forum:

yes and you can always use idine to make up the dif and then transfer them to HHilton like I was instructed to do with my UNITED. Idine gave me the needed points to make up the dif posted to my FFP in 6 weeks easy!

Throw a great Xmas party at an idine restaurant. $500 bill = 5000 miles PRONTO!

If you could use Idine to get your miles up to 5,000 you would have enough to potentially use the miles for a one way upgrade (depending on the fare) - good also for Northwest, I believe. Might be more pleasing than magazines!

I have several accounts with fewer than 5,000 miles and many of these are on airlines I have never flown. I typically pick up 500 to 1000 miles a year by e-mail promos and surveys and things I see on Flyertalk. A couple of times in the past two years I have been able to take miles from one of these accounts to use for another airline bonus. I was able to use 100 miles from one account, I think America West, to transfer to another mileage program through Points.com. That turned those 100 throw-away miles into 1,000 miles I could use.
You never know when the miles might become useful.
You can transfer 5000 miles from Continental to Amtrak to either United or Midwest Express, 1:1.

How do you transfer miles from Continental to Amtrak? Continental's web site mentions nothing about this reward.

Turn your Continental OnePass Miles into MilePoint Money and shop online. At MilePoint you can use your OnePass Miles toward partial payment of purchases from many of the Web's most popular retailers. Each mile has a retail purchasing value of 2 cents.
