Hilton HHonors - How Far In Advance Can You Book An Award Stay?

I am looking to book an award stay in Hawaii at either HHV or HWV. The award availablity calendar shows almost all of July 2008 available at both properties, but when I plug in early August dates, neither is available up through August 18th:confused:. I can book paid stays for the dates in August.

Is award travel only book-able 331 days in advance (like airline award travel?)

Any advice is appreciated!

As a HH Diamond you should be able to change a paid reservation to an award reservation through the Diamond Desk. A reservation must be made in the same room type that is used for rewards in order for this to work. I have done this a few times.

Make your paid reservation in the basic room type then call the Diamond Desk and ask them to switch it to a reward reservation. If for some reason the rewards are not available on those days you have time to cancel your paid reservations if necessary. When you call you should be given the option of having the reward immediately issued or waiting to issue it later. When booking online the reward is always immediately created with the reservation.

From my experience is there is no set time (e.g. 331, 365 days etc) and it would seem to be up to the hotel to load their available award inventory into the system. For most hotels, you should be able to book one year in advance.

I suggest that you phone the hotel and explain that you want to lock-in your travel arrangements and can they help.
