I also posted this in the AA forum, but if anyone else can help, I don't need to use AA miles. Any airline is fair game, as long as the price is right.

I need to get a ticket for my dad to go to a few cities in Europe. He will be leaving the Washington DC area on Friday, December 6 and returning to the same area on Saturday, December 14.

Here is the tricky part. He need to be in Warsaw (WAW) around noon on the 7th. He then needs to be in Prague (PRG) around noon on the 10th. Next up is Sofia (SOF) the afternoon of the 11th. Lastly is Bucharest the evening of the 12th.

The best he has been able to do pricewise is $1571.20, which I feel if pretty good.

I assume BA would be a good choice for this trip. Would this itinerary be possible with AA miles?

Thank you.

You know what, Orbitz is pretty good at handling complex itineraries. I managed to hook my brother up with a trip to New Zealand's North and South Islands, then off to Australia, with a stop in Japan.

The one downside to Orbitz is that you can't run an itinerary with Europe as both ends.

I booked a colleague today who needed to go CLE-ARN-CDG-CLE. Turned out to be thousands cheaper to buy CLE-ARN and CDG-CLE with a roundtrip ARN-CDG (throw away the CDG-ARN return). Can't do ARN-CDG on Orbitz.

Orbitz is fabulous for piecing together segments on multiple carriers nad finding good prices.

However, once the research is done, it's sometimes easier to piece together itineraries elsewhere (e.g. Expedia).

Orbitz isn't very good for selecting specific flight times and it's harder to use w/ int'l travel b/c it doesn't offer the same matrix that it does on domestic itineraries.

You could use a OneWorld award for 60K AA miles in Y or 80-90K in J (a much better deal IMO.) It would unfortunately require out-of-the-way bouncing via Helsinki, Finland; or London or Spain.
