JetBlue TrueBlue - JFK Baggage
I flew B6 from SJU to JFK today (Saturday). SJU flights operate out of the international terminal number 4. Flight lands at 2:25 pm, bags come out at 4:05. No explanation, no B6 employees a lot of anger. A fellow passenger calls the res number and they had no idea what to do. After an animated conversation, the RA says she will call the airport. 22 minutes later, she got back on the phone and said she could not reach anybody at JFK but will keep trying.
What could cause this?

That's horrible! 2 hours waiting for baggage. I can imagine any number of reasons. JetBlue forgot about the bags, weather delays and the bags where misplaced. Security issue or backup with Customs.
I'm terribly sorry you had to wait for 2 hours with no representatives around able to answer questions and help out!

That is crazy, but not as bad as the 3 hours (on two occasions, no exageration!) that I had to wait for bags on DL - both time arriving JFK. The first was in Feb. of 2004 from SLC, waited 3 hours and the second time was in August 2005 from MCO, also waited 3 hours.

Wow, sounds like you're on a real bad streak with B6! FWIW, I fly in and out of JFK on B6 fairly often, and usually have bags out fairly quickly (i.e. 20 minutes or so). Perhaps the snafu was due to flying into T4, which is not B6's regular terminal.
All-in-all, I'd chalk it up to an unpleasant one-off experience. Write B6 and let them know what happened, and then give them another shot.

Again, I agree with you. I still rather fly on B6 than anywhere on AA. Especially to SJU. This was a one time problem but I think that some B6 flyers who switched because of the problems of the legacy airlines makes us a little paranoid when we see similar problems happen.

I didn't know that SJU-JFK was considered an international flight that required customs.
One of my closests friends just flew SJU-EWR this past friday on AA () did not do any customs or passports.

You do not need to go through customs when returning fom Puerto Rico. I believe B6 is using Terminal 4 for some overflow business while they build the new terminal. There is a baggage area for domestic flights.

That's what I thought. I was just a little confused by JetBlueFA's comment quoted below:
...Security issue or backup with Customs.

I don't think this is limited to SJU flights to JFK. Friends arrived on Aug 10 at JFK from SFO. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!. There were weather delays so most flights were late by about 2 hours. That's fine. After a bit of a taxi it took about 45 min to get a bus and ship the passengers over to the terminal. While they were sitting on the plane, all the baggage was unloaded - my friends watched the process from the plane. So they are thinking - great, we'll get to the terminal and our bags will be waiting!
WRONG!!!!! 2 1/2 hour hours later their luggage finally arrived. To say it was a zoo is an understatement. Flights coming in all over the place, no one knowing what luggage was on what carousel. Then flights coming in after the SFO were getting their bags before us. There were bags arriving and no passengers. Then 1/2 hour later the passengers would show up on the bus and collect their bags that were spinning around for 1/2 hour. Meanwhile we're standing waiting for our bags and they never show.
Finally we found a supv and asked what was going on and he said "ok, I'll call over to have them bring out those bags" and fifteen min later the bags were suddenly there - apparently they were just sitting somewhere in the back all that time. Seems they are completely unorganized and a real mess.
I'm running out of patience for this airline. I really do like flying them, but this is nuts.
Received a response from B6 yestersay. I appreciate the $30 voucher they gave me. But the response was totally template.
Chalk this one up the airline industry. I have already booked my B6 filghts for the next 2 months.
