I looked in the Ride Report quicklink thread, but have seen nothing re: Cadillac Escalade. Does anyone have a ride report? Or know where I can find one?

Does anyone have a ride report? Or know where I can find one? Thanks, Peter M Aug 19, 07, 6:08 pm To quote a colleague who drove the last one I rented: "Feels like I'm driving a dump truck!":D It's big, smooth, comfortable, heavy, and likely to harm your credit rating after every stop at a gas station! Difficult to park in normal parking spots, navigating narrow downtown streets will shorten your life by raising your blood pressure. It's best feature is its freeway smoothness, and the great quantity of interior space and seating for a big family.;) JLewisinSyr Aug 19, 07, 9:19 pm I rented an 07 Escalade in Syracuse. It was fully loaded including moonroof, rear entertainment group, OEM Navigation, etc. It was a 6 seater, with mid captain chairs and rear bench. It was very smooth, quiet and just a nice ride all around. I had no problem parking it, but then again, I own a SUV and large luxury car, so it wasn't anything big to me. As for driving it, it turned a lot of heads, because it was rare to see when I rented it (07 was redesigned and new to the market when I got it) and well, no matter what year the vehicles are, they are pimp. Fuel wise, definately not great, I got about 15 MPG on the highway and about 13 in the city, but not like you can complain due to its size. nwaaok Aug 20, 07, 10:48 am Fuel wise, definately not great, I got about 15 MPG on the highway and about 13 in the city, but not like you can complain due to its size. Not to mention, for a truck that weighs about 5,000 lbs, it has good performance with the 6.2L V8... MikeBU Aug 20, 07, 8:02 pm i thoroughly enjoyed mine... wish I had kept it... only issue is clearance in parking decks. the escalade's about 6'2"-6'3" JLewisinSyr Aug 20, 07, 8:19 pm i thoroughly enjoyed mine... wish I had kept it... only issue is clearance in parking decks. the escalade's about 6'2"-6'3" H2 for the loss on that one. My parking garage is 7' and the H2 is 6' 7", providing 5" of clearance, all I can say is you must go REALLY slow over the deck raises. I actually knocked off the top rear marker lamp once. |
