SAS lists a Sweden - Australia (Pacific) F award as 240k points:

I'd like to maximize the routing with as many carriers/lounges as possible even though it might mean a really long flight. Hey - it's in F so I'll be happy ;)

I have a few questions:

- Is this routing allowed (open jaw):
ARN-FRA-NRT-BKK-MEL // SYD-SIN-FRA-ARN

- Stopovers allowed?

- How would you check for availability for all these segments?

I hardly doubt that you will be alowed to fly to SYD via NRT on an award ticket.

Overall I think its very hard to find available flights in F. I have heard that SQ only have one First seat available at each flight for award tickets (maybe anybody has any more info about this).

I tried many times to get award ticket on SQ in business between CPH and SIN, and only one out of the 10 times I have tried I got award ticket one way and had to fly LH back.

So don't be too optimistic about this! But the best thing you can do is to call Eurobonus memberservice. They have always been very helpful when I have booked award Bizclass ticket to Asia and tried out a lot of alternative routes to forfill my wishes.

Sign up for an ANA account and you can use their webengine to search for available F seats. peter42 found a few SQ 77W F&C seats that way.

ARN-SYD//MEL-ARN should be possible, but the AFAIK the UA SYD-MEL can be used in conjunction with *A award and RTWs if you want to close the gap ;)

Do you think that ARN-FRA-NRT-BKK-SIN-SYD is valid though? It's a nice way to include NH/TG/SQ/LH on one trip ;)

Why not post this one in the Star forum, you will for sure get more answers over there.

I doubt the jump via NRT will be accepted.

Do you think that ARN-FRA-DXB-SIN-SYD would be possible though? Dubai is half-way!

Asiana (bad C product) sells FRA-ICN-SYD, so it should be OK...

Just look up the availability and armed with plenty of info, make the call!

I also think it will be very hard to find F availability, especially with so many flights and I very much doubt they will let you fly both via NRT and BKK/SIN, it's too much of a detour, you will have to choose.
Also keep in mind the maximum number of segments is 8 (some even say 6, but 8 segments has been OK in the past).

Thanks! I'd have to book really early then. Im just trying to find something to do with my 200k points on the EB account now that im probably switching to BD*G :)

I have only booked one *A award which was my South Pacific tour in business class with Air NZ to RAR and PPT, but it was booked something like 5 months in advance, that's probably the time frame you need to look at.

I have almost 130,000 points in my account now, also thinking of how to make best use of them.

I am not sure what the rules are for EB since I mainly use M&M for earn and burn - at M&M stopovers etc are governed by regions. DXB or NRT would not work coupled with a BKK stopover as BKK is considered SE asia, NRT far east and DXB Middle East.

Note on some popular routes, like BKK - SYD a F seat in peak times can be nigh impossible, even 330 days out. Be flexible and allow more time in advnace if travelling close to major holidays. Especially since SQ have restricted availability for new C and F.

I will disagree with oliver2002, OZ's new C on the 777s flying to SYD is a good C product. The 747C business class is a bit rubbish though.

I think Bjornstrom is trying to try out SQs new F. Sorry to say it will be really tough. There have been numerous discussions over on the Star forum and also the UA forum if you do a search over there.

There are VERY few seats available, no matter when you book. Just remember that more seats will sometimes be released later.

I would sign up for the ANA tool and check out the Star forum. You will get much more help if you post over there

I've sent off an email asking EB memberservice about maximum permitted mileage on bonus trips to Australia as well. Approx 350' in the account now (although nothing will expire until end of 2009) so I need to burn some. Would be nice to try a long F-trip or two.
