Asia - Travel to Myanmar from USA

Does anyone from USA have experience with travel to and return from Myanmar? There are no US Govt travel restrictions but US Customs website states that you cannot bring ANYTHINGback including souvenirs. Has anyone experienced customs when Myanmar was on the itinerary? If so what should I expect? Thanks

This past Spring I visited SE Asia for a one-month vacation, and included a week in Yangon & Bagan at the very beginning of my trip. I then continued on to various other countries. The Myanmar visa was of course clearly and visibly stamped in my passport.

Upon my return to the U.S., entering at Newark, NJ EWR, I was not questioned at all about any of the countries I visited. Nor was I questioned about any of the entry/departure stamps and visae in my passport.

I did have a few tourist knickknacks in my luggage (a lacquer tray, a cotton beach bag, some picture postcards).

That was only my experience, of course, but I hope it is yours too!
