Sixt - Biggest Sixt hub in Germany?

I guess it would be Munich Airport. Over 200 cars there for sure as it's the whole floor in a car park! Anybody knows other big hubs in Germany? I generally wanna try out the new CDMR class -- latest Volvo C30 and BMW 1 facelift.... anybody know if Sixt gets them already? are they 1.6 or 1.8 litres? petrol/diesel?

yes, muc is the biggest sixt station... appearantly fra and paris are quite big as well.

volvo c30: that would be cpmr and not cdmr. I havnt seen a D5 yet (Hertz has them), sixt has 1.8 petrol and 2.0d

I have seen one new 1series in munic from sixt. but I am not sure anybody will notice the difference with the backlights. sixt doesnt have the new 3door version, at least I havnt seen one.

I'm much concern about the car i'd get. Last time in Jan 2007 I booked the PDMR group and requested for a BMW with petrol and manual....ended up a 520d auto. :(

Anyway I'm interested on Mini as well. Sad that I cannot get the offer as they're to be collected at BMW Niederlassung, so I called Sixt an hour ago and the lady told me it's on the CDMR group (this time i'm correct) alongside Alfa 147 etc. Have your guys actually seen mini at Munich or other airport branches?

Since it is a car you RENT you will never be sure what to get, and quite frankly, I won't be so sure to try that at the BIGGEST location of a rental car company, especially if you go so far to ask for a specific engine size, etc.

Regarding reserving special wishes like certain type of car, haven't been too successfull with SIXT on that, but then again I got LOTS of upgrades by them because they seem to run out of smaller cars very quickly :p......

1. I had a 116i and a 120d (before facelift)
2. yes, they have mini cooper (120ps I think) in their fleet. If you want to make sure you get one and you have time, just go to the parkdeck from sixt before you go to the counter... If you find a mini, write down the numberplate and tell them. They will be looking at you quite strange but eventually you'll get the one you want.

I have had good results with Sixt when using their "800-call-before-number". Mostly got the car (keys in those boxes) and some LH M&M miles. When the price is right, I like to rent from Sixt.

I'll be going to Germany again in June. Munich is still my favourite because of the huge rental stations!

So here comes some questions:

1) How are the cars there now? I'm going for PTMR or FSMR as I want to go for a Z4. Would there be new Z4 out now? I'm fine with the old one.

2) As a sixt Gold, My information are given to sixt company and they seldom ask me for my driving license during check in. The thing is, I will be 25 in 9 months time so would they check my age or allow me to get a 25+ car group? Given that my friend will come and drive with me and he's over 25 but not a sixt card holder.

3) Is there still any TT around MUC? What car group would that be in?

4) After being to FRA, HHN, as well as Dusseldorf urban stations in Apr, I only find 525d, 530d and 525i for LDAR. Would there be 535d (just a hope)? I don't think sixt has ever brought in any 535d.

I'm pretty sure that no rental car company in Germany (at least none of the major brands) offers such a car.

I really, really doubt there's a 535d, maybe 535i.

I've seen 520d and 530d. I've seen 730d and 740d.

1) FSMR: Right class for getting a Z4 or TT as well. I´ve not yet seen a new Z4 at SIXT.

2) Thats new !!! Éven as a Diamond-customer I ALWAYS have to present my drivers license when taking over the rental car.

Only option for not having to present your driver ID:
Use quick-check via phone and go to the car-key deposit safe (available at all German SIXT-airport station). Don´t know if the phone assistant will check your age.

3) Yes, available (unfortunatelly not any more the niche one´s in white).

just got an awful renault megane convertible last weekend which must have been left from last summer (high mileage)

Now that you mention it, they sell the 6 cyl turbo in the US but obviously not in Germany.

I wasn't sure about 535i, but I know when I made reservations in Sixt.de, they did show 535d, but when I got there, they told me they never had one. That was both MUC and FRA. They always gave me the 520d (downgrade) and I rarely saw 530d on the lot. I never saw 535d.

Have you seen 530i?? I've never seen one. I only saw 520d, 525d, 523i Estate, 525d and 530d. That's it.

Two years ago, FRA tried to offer me a 530i until I told her I was willing to accept a 530d limousine or a 520d kombi.

For Quick Check In you just have to call the SIXT-hotline and mention, that you want to use the SIXT-car-key-safe (just available at airports and some railstations). You than can deal with them about the car. Depending on what they have in offer, they will deposit the key upon your arrival.
It always is worht a try. If they can´t offer something you want, you still can decline and try your luck at the counter.

Z4: I had both of them, more often the one with more power :-)
