Sorry for two posts...
My family and I plan on getting into CLE on Friday afternoon (October 19) to attend a wedding on the 20th. The wedding rehearsal (Miss Swede will be a flower girl) is set for 6pm at the Ritz-Carlton.
If we don't get the non-stop DEN-CLE UA flight (arriving at 2:50p), we will most likely take the ORD-CLE flight arriving at 4:05p, which means we most likely won't get out of the airport until 4:45p or so. Will we be able to make it to the Ritz in time?
In addition, does the Ritz provide a free airport shuttle? If not, what's the easiest way to get to the hotel with five adults and two kids (3 years and 2 months)?

I grew up in Cleveland but my information is a bit out of date. I think that if everything goes perfectly, that should be enough time to get to the Ritz (barely). There won't be any Browns traffic...
There is the rapid (train) from the airport to Terminal Tower in Public Square (which is where the Ritz is), but the weekend trains don't run as often as you'd probably want.

Grew up here...still live here, couldn't pay me enough to leave (Do enjoy Denver/Ft. Collins/Colorado Springs though, had the best bloody Mary in Manatu (sp?) Springs)...heck I just convinced somebody to move here from Manhattan :-)
The red line http://www.gcrta.org/schedules/rt66wk.html leaves from 1 level below baggage claim. Get off at Terminal Tower....The Ritz is attached to the train station by a mall. The train costs $1.75/person have correct change, you can pay for more than 1 ticket at a time. You dont need 1.75, 1.75 you could have 3.50.

Are you staying at the Ritz?
If not leave your luggage with the bell hop, collect it after and get a cab to wherever your hotel is....or go check into the hotel while the rehearsal is occurring.
You will be arriving during the evening rush hour...when everybody will be trying to get out of downtown. You could take a cab ($25-$30) or a shuttle but you run the risk of being delayed by traffic.
If you are looking for somewhere to eat or trying to kill a couple of hours check out the suggestions in this thread:

Thanks for the information.
I had no idea Cleveland had a light rail system. That will certainly be the best and most economical way to get to the hotel. Looks like arriving at 4pm might be cutting it close (with any possible wx delays--plus the need to get changed and ready for the rehearsal). I'll have to cross my fingers to get decent fares on the non-stop arriving at 2:50p.
Yes, we are staying at the Ritz (on someone else's dime).

We have indoor plumbing as well :-) jk.
One thing we absolutely do NOT have is anything remotely resembling a mountain....I think Lake Erie is a pretty good trade off though.
Enjoy C-town....Hopefully we will still be celebrating the Indians winning the world series on the 19th :-)

A playoff series, perhaps. The 7th game of the World Series is scheduled for November 1 this year.
