Suggestions - when a moderator deletes a post, can the poster be notified as to why?

i had a 2 posts deleted yesterday and the reason makes sense for the second of the 2 posts as it was a quick bit of o/t banter between myself and another poster but not for the first post as that one was a response to another poster's comment (& adding addiitonal info) to one of my preceeding posts.

just curious as i'd like to post my original (non/banter and on-topic) reply again but this time with a bit more info so as not to be deleted again but just a bit gun shy

now as an aside, in the "2 post banter" i described above the poster who replied to my post, doesn't like being told they are wrong (which i did in a funny, polite, humorous and impossible to be offensive way so i'm wondering if that might have had something to do with it).

again just curious as to why no one gets notifed in one of their posts gets deleted.

This really isn't something that belongs in the Suggestion Forum, to find out more about why your thread was deleted you should contact the moderator(s) of the forum in question. They should be able to let you know why the thread was deleted. Thank you,

I'd like to correct something you mention here. Your comment is " just curious as to why no one gets notifed in one of their posts gets deleted." I cab assure you that hundreds of members will assert that this statement is incorrect. Many if not most are contacted but it is truly impossible to contact every member for every instance. Why? Let's see, a volunteer assignment in the middle of life, business and travel. The availability of time is often the culprit. There's not a volunteer that wished they had the time to do all the notification, but just as they try, so do i and while imperfect, it's a pretty good deal for the cost of admission. Most often besides time is the assumption that the deletion speaks for itself. Does a moderator really need to tell a member that it was improper to call another a troll?

Now, I'm not sure which edit you are referring to and would gladly assist you if you chose to contact me with the specifics. But wanted to correct any misunderstandings you had regarding your post.

Thanks for understanding and i look forward to hearing from you.

Randy

Here's a tip: if ever you are posting something and aren't sure, simply flag down a moderator and ask them for advice - first. That's really why they are hear and it does several things: gets you to the answer faster and helps other members (they as well love it when common topics are posted in common forums).
