I know the information is hear but an unable to search for the proper terms to locate it. What exactly is the process for initially funding a citi checking account with a credit card? Is a call required, or can you do everything but fund online and then call, etc?

I believe if you open account online, you have to fax or mail in a form with your credit card information. Yes you can do everything online. Offline is different, you can pay at branch.

IIRC there is a screen that asks you how you'd like to fund. You have to select 'other options' and 'Fund by credit/debit card' will be one of them. You'll then have to print out and mail or fax a form with your card information.

This works the same for their savings accounts, too.

It says on the form you fax to check with your cc company because it could be treated as a cash advance or a purchase. Sounds risky.

This has been discussed in detail on FatWallet:

I used a United MP card for funding; it was treated as a purchase, so I got almost 10k miles. I would have done more if I had a higher CL!

I think the max they allow is 40K. Any chance they accept Amex

40k is not the max ;).

One more question. Currently there is a 10k sign up bonus for paying $25 and getting the AA debit card.

The Terms say "Bonus once per account". I assume that this means per checking account, and not per FF account? Can anyone verifiy?

Even without the 10K CC loads, this would be a good way to pick up 10k for $25.

What is the max? Can you split on multiple cards? Do they accept Amex?
