Hilton HHonors - ? about HHonors Gold status

Hi,

My husband used to be a HHonors Silver member, but recently has gotten 2 new Gold cards by mail. I phoned Hilton and they said that they were sent out as promotional cards and that they had already been combined with the main Silver account. She said his status is now Gold and they she will have a new Gold card mailed out to us.

How could it be that my husband is Gold - he very rarely stays at Hilton (always with Marriott) and he has 1990 points.!? :confused:

Also, we are staying at the Hilton Hawaiian VIllage this coming October for a convention - what sort of pluses or upgrades should we expect being that we are now Gold?

Welcome to FT.

Suffice it to say that Hilton gave your husband Gold because they want his business. If it gets you and him to stay there more, then it did what it was designed to.

Also, we are staying at the Hilton Hawaiian VIllage this coming October for a convention - what sort of pluses or upgrades should we expect being that we are now Gold?

I always suggest calling the front desl manager ahead of time and ask if there is anything that he/she can do for you regarding an upgraded room. It works some of the time depending on the friendliness of the manager. That being said, if you are on a special "convention rate" you may be preassigned to a certain level of rooms and calling won't help. Either way, enjoy the trip and I hope you get a great room!
