I tried a few searches on this but came up empty. Below is a copy of the website's rate type details (Hampton Inn Dearborn):

DETROIT DOUBLE POINTS & MILESEARN DOUBLE POINTS & MILES ON N
WA & DELTAVALID AUGUST 1 - NOVEMBER 30, 2007MUST PROVIDE FF # AND HHONORS # AT CHECK-INSUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY

Has anyone booked this promotion before, maybe at a different hotel? Mostly, I'm curious if you receive double base points or just double points. Is it required to double-dip with Airline Miles? Any information you have would be great. Thanks, all. - FSUNOLE

1. They give you double bonus points, not double base points.
2. You will have to choose miles instead of the additional 5 points/$ in order to get the miles - and with a Hampton, it's only 100 miles/stay, so doubling it will only give you 200 miles/stay. Not really worth it, to me anyhow.

I've booked it at other hotels. The double points are bonus points, and do not count towards requalifying. If you book it and don't have airline miles selected, you lose the double airline miles portion. If the rate is very close to your other options, it's not a horrible deal.
