I've been wondering about this project. I wonder what's taking so long. More importantly, the company is 'slowing' down growth, and it's already more than half way through 2007. Shouldn't it have been well built by now?

I am very suprised they had the permits before have the contractor. Getting the plans approved before having the contractor is one thing, but having the actually building permits is another. But hey, that just me and my contruction experience from my job.

The project was put on hold because the company wasn't hiring and no need was seen to go ahead with the project. The hotel was recently put back into the front burner.

No offense but that is an odd reason to put a project like this on hold. Unless you're an Enron type company, when does a large corporation stop hiring? Sure, you may have a period of 6 months, maybe a year or even 18 months where you don't hire because tight finances. However, JetBlue has over 10,000 employees. These employees quit, get fired, go on maternity leave, get promoted or get reassigned else where within the company. As long a company stays in business and there is no immediate thread of folding, HR will always need to hire.
