Just cancelled my B6 amex card today. The over-the-phone cancellation process was hassle-free and took less than 5 min. Reason: don't want to pay $40 per year. Also, my True Blue point balance has dropped to 0.
Don't get me wrong: I like B6 and will continue to fly it on occassion. I am especially looking forward to when I can check in at and use the historic TWA building in terminal 5 at JFK. But there are better credit card deals out there. I have just acquired an SPG amex.

I would think AMEX would be sad to see you leave as well. I don't blame you for cancelling especially if you aren't getting the full advantage. We'll still look for you on flights!

The $40 fee was waived as part of a promo my first year of having the card. As with any CC out there, especially co-branded ones, it makes sense for some people and not for others.
With me, $40 is a true bargain, compared to the number of free flights I earn and more importantly am able to redeem each year. Thanks to double points at several venues, particularly restaurants and sporting events, I spend WAY less than $20,000 to earn an award. Probably half that. Not to mention it beats 25k for (crappy) coach at other airlines.
I also find the bonuses such as no expiration and free drinks on some flights to be great for me.
The Starwood AMEX is good too. I just prefer free flights. However, Starwood is my favorite line of hotels so you made a great choice. What's the annual fee on it?

IIRC, it's fee free for a year, and then $30/year after that.

The only reason I have the card in the first place is to keep my TrueBlue points from expiring. I am not sure how most people, aside from the frequent business travelers who happen to live in focus cities (BOS, JFK, FLL, MCO, LGB) can possibly accrue enough points in a year to get a free trip.
I used to fly IAD-JFK at least once per month, and even I never got CLOSE to making it... even with the AMEX sign-up bonus as a boost!
Now that I live in MI... I don't have the ability to fly B6 as often, so the card will keep my points active until I reach 100 (I'm too close to quit now).
That's the only reason for the card. I should have an award within the year... worst case, that "free" ticket will cost me the $40 annual fee (first year is free). Worth it in my case.
How do I get the first year free? The link on the JetBlue website doesn't say anything about it.

You will enjoy the Amex SPG, I thought about getting the Jet Blue Amex for the bonus points but I don't want to pay the fee.
