Just wondering of anyone has experience of connecting in LHR off an EI flight travelling onwards with VS ??

As in the good ole days, you could interline your baggage onto VS at check in at DUB with EI & like wise on the way home. But that was when EI was a member of an alliance & a real airline actually providing a service to it’s passengers.

Whereas now it’s nothing more than a school bus with wings, modelling itself on the lowest of the low fare carriers & wants to do nothing for the paying passenger.

I know that they will interline with BA when your booking is on a BA PNR with BA flight numbers for the EI flights.

I’m hoping to switch back some of my long haul travel to VS later this year & next year & wonder what sort of drama I’ll face with baggage trying to do so.

Umm - this is more of an EI question than a VS one, as it's them who will determine whether it can be interlined or not. It's also them who are responsible should the bag go missing.

Going the other way, IF your EI flight is on the same ticket/PNR as your VS one, Virgin WILL interline your bag from them to EI. If on seperate locators/bookings, no - sorry.

Yeah I know !!

I could have posted on the OW forum, but then by query is more related to VS flights & my switch back to them as my long haul carrier, so I posted here :)

I suppose though I did rant on a bit about EI.

I'm just hoping to gleen info from someone who's recently flown VS after coming in off an EI flight, to see what happened.

I do recall in the past a hook up between BD & VS, is that still in existance ??
