Hey all, I need to get to Milan next week in F class and would like to take *A (working my way to 1K on United). What is the best F class equipment to take? LH is the fastest and best times of flights but UA has the first class suites.

Thanks!
WLM

I think if you're deciding between LH and UA in F, you have to go with LH. I think the LH F product beats the UA suites, plus you can take LH to FRA, use the F terminal, then connect to Milan.

I can second that. I would rather take LH in C than UA in F

ok, great guys, thanks for the response. what about compared to BA F? I might have to take that instead because work can probably get a good discount. I know it's not *A but I want to see how much I need to push

I would still do LH... just think H-E-A-T-R-U-E as you are wearily emerging from a flight lining up for a connection.... I would SO take FRA or MUC over that...

In between F for BA & LHR, I'd prefer BA.

Without doubt the best F class would be SQ, particularly on the 77W that serves SFO-ICN-SIN connecting on to MXP on another SQ 77W. Just depends if you fancy going the long way and having a 23 hour connection in SIN.

If the OP is a mileage glutton (and it appears as if he is on that mission towards 1K), that will without a doubt be a double combo winner on both the product and mileage aspects. ;) :D

My recommendation is LH. Why?
LH vs BA
- FRA and especially the F terminal in FRA is much nicer and more efficient than LHR. MUC is even better for connecting, but no F terminal
- No 1 Carry on limitation in FRA
- LH is better in actually delivering your luggage after your flight
- In my experience LH is much better in solving problems when delays, cancellations etc happen
- The LH seat is wider and somewhat more comfortable than the BA seat. But for somebody travelling there is less privacy (no suite, only pairs on the 747). The Airbus has single seats, the 747 only pairs (avoid the 747)

LH vs UA
The suites have more privacy than the 747-seats on LH, but are smaller. That is the only positive aspect of UA.

I like all three (UA, BA, LH) airlines' F products, so can't strongly recommend one over the other. But you might want to take routing into consideration in picking one.

Avoid BA if at all possible, simply because you should avoid transiting through LHR. It can be truly horrible.

Folks rave about LH's First Class Terminal in Frankfurt, which I believe you can only access if flying on LH, not UA or other airlines. If your connections might give or require you to spend a few hours in FRA, this could be a factor in favor of LH.
