I've heard it discussed in the conf. calls before, and I've noticed that with the last few tickets I've booked, most aisle seats in the front are shown as occupied. These are for fligths months from now...has anyone noticed similar trends? It looks like they will be going to higher paying pax.

 Could this be the start of "status" at B6?

I noticed this yesterday as I bought tickets for 4 different flights in mid-September.

On the 3 that will be on the E190, both exit rows were already blocked as occupied. After having make the first booking, I could accept that all of these seats sold out. However, after the 3rd booking, it seemed more likely that they were completely blocking them out.

On the one flight I booked scheduled to be on an A320, I was able to secure an exit row seat, but I noted that 3 1/2 rows in the front of the plane were totally blocked as occupied, rather than what I recall usually being no more than 2 rows.

I've learned to never say never, but I don't really think status, as it has been publically discussed before. To sum it up, aisle seats up front with 36" pitch will be held on the side for the last bucket of fares.

That would explain why I couldn't snag an up front A/C or D/F pair for my January ski trip (w. a friend) to SLC. Just grabbing seats in the back going there, and snagging windows (behind each other) for the red-eye return.
