juz came across CX booking engine, with some of CX SYD flights changed to 330 instead of 333, howcome?

This means that the new seats have gone on the SYD route. It seems from EF that only 101/100 have 330 shown and that only J and Y are sold on these flights. I couldn't open the seat map I can't confirm.

Hope this helps.

Am I right in guessing that the new designation for the new 330s is 33B??

I figured this out as I'm trying to get an upgrade award in First on CX100/101, unfortunately they are both shown as "cancelled" :td:

You would be correct. ^ In fact, the schedule now shows CX100/101 and some CX138/139 services would be operated by an '33B' aircraft.

Yep. Seats are numbered rows 11-25 with ADK. No 12D or 25K. From what I can see that is a HUGE J class cabin. I wonder if they're gonna split it into two sections or not.

Anyway I don't understand why they chose CX139/8 or CX101/0. CX139 connects mainly the European arrivals, while CX101 is popular amongst Asian transits and local HKG pax. CX111/0 remains 333, which is a surprise to me. Back in March I was on CX111, most pax in the F cabin were op-upped and on the return on CX110, there were only 2 pax in the whole F cabin (while the J cabin on both flights are full).

Hello, i was booked on cx 101 hkg-syd in F on 26 august.
Now i am downgraded from F to J because of the new business class :-((

I had a award booking from asiamiles.
Asiamiles have put my on a waitlist for the flight from 19:00 in first, if i have lucky i can fly first on the 19:00 pm flight. If i am unlucky i stay at the cx 101 in j!

Does anyone know what the chance is to be waitlisted on the 19:00pm flight?
Do i make a good change for first?

With greetings, Dennis

Well probably an impossible question to answer but is this going to happen on any of the other F routes? Do we just wait for when the CX schedule changes and all madly try to switch to another flight?

Emm....so far on our Crews schedule informations, CX101 / 111 / 139 on 26th Aug will be using A333 current F / J / Y seats

There might be some reasons behind, Full Fare paxs occupied all the seats....etc

According to information from another board, the config for the A33B would be 41J/223Y.

To CXCrew, first of all, a warm welcome to the board. AFAIK, B-LAE was supposed to arrive on the 27th July, however, there are rumours that the delivery date has been pushed back for some unknown reason....

Help needed please for a CX virgin:confused: I will take my first flight on CX in J in October, and the CX website says it is a 333. There are 2 seat configurations, and given I can make a dummy F class booking on these flights, I assume it is the 3 class configuration. SeatGuru below seems to suggest this has the new business seats - is this correct? If so, anyone care to recommend a seat?
Thanks

33B is the new config. CX111/0 is a 333 which still uses the long-haul business class which was introduced some 5 years ago. Yes you will find F on 111/0. I personally prefer row 11, which is the bulkhead of the first section of J. Avoid 11DG though, since the PTV is a bit higher up on the wall.

Actually 11DG are the BEST J Class seats on 34C and 333 IMO. You get meal choice first as well as aisle access and without your feet dangling onto the aisle like 11 C and J The TV position is fine and is better when in the sleeping position. Alos you get an extra table because of the bassinet.

What a pain. Booked on 138 out of SYD on Jan 5 in F (paid). Guess at some point CX will get back to me and offer me a rebooking on 110 or some cash back. Can get a similar fare BA out/QF back which is a shorter journey (OK, less time in The Wing/The Pier) and F all the way. I know BA F isn't up to the top standards these days, but it's familiar to me, and I hear good things about QF F now...

Do bear in mind that there's a 1am departure from MEL that still has F. I'm not sure what sort of connection you have in HKG but that might be an option...

Nothing like insider information... Thanks for joining Flyertalk, and for taking such a helpful attitude!

So what plane configuration will be flying CX111 on 25-Nov? I'm booked J-class on that one. And what about CX138 on 30-Nov? That's my return...

Fingers crossed that they will fly the new business-class...

Both your return will operate by old long-haul business.

If you want fly with new business you need take CX101 and CX100 for return.

sorry..just type wrong n/m

Thanks for the swift reply! If I read you correctly then CX111 has the new J-class, whereas CX138 doesn't. Is that correctly understood?

If so, that has me thinking, as I anyway stop over in HKG and Shenzhen for a few days on my return. Might as well book the most comfortable flight possible!

From the dates you have given, CX 111 would be operated by an A333 on 25-Nov (current long-haul J seats) and CX 138 would also be operated by an A333 on 30-Nov.

CX 111/110 are usually operated by an A333 while CX 101/100 are usually operated by an A33B (new flat-bed J seats). On the other hand, CX 138/139 are operated by an A33B on Mon, Wed, Thu and Sun and an A33 on Tue, Fri and Sat.

Hope this helps.

I find it a big disappointment that CX are withdrawing 3-class services to/from AUS. CX should have these routes completely sewn-up in the premium cabins.

The new 74A F is a product that truly says F.

The only OW option in F to HKG now is on QF.

Only on 2 out of 3 flights. Renenue F loads have been poor. This route can't sustain 24 seats in F in addition to the QF flight. QF has only had one flight with F for years.

Agree, and you would be a complete Luddite to book QF on a 767. Dropping the 3-class is a shame and hopefully CX will review this in the future.

I think that as more 777s get delivered, and as more A330s get refurb'd the the intention was to pull F from HKG-SYD. I remember someone posted this tidbit after talking to a CX insider.
