Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Advice on waitlisted flights please

We (2 GOs and 1 non-status) are currently waitlisted in L class on CX785 and CX787 to DPS next month on a Thursday, returning on CX784 on a Sunday. This is a Cathay Holidays package. However, all three flights are showing only Y and B available. The CSO hinted that the chance of getting 3 L seats is very small. :(
Yes, I know GOs can get Y seats guaranteed, but according to the CSO if I do this then the priority of the non status member getting a seat will be lower.
The alternative option is confirm ourselves on J. However the outbound flight is a 330 (we are more likely to take the later flight, CX787), but if we are lucky we may be seated in the F cabin on the 744 on the return.
I wouldn't mind sitting in Y and I'd rather spend the extra money to sit in J on a nicer hotel room in Bali. However if the waitlist does not clear then we may have to change our destination.
Can anyone please advise on getting 3 L seats confirmed??
Many thanks! :D

Does CX holidays allow you paying extra $ to upgrade the non-member pax to have higher economy sub-class, say B class? After B class is confirmed for that non-member, then you 2 GOs can have guarentee L class.
If CX holidays does not allow economy sub-class upgrading, what about you 2 GOs stay with CX holidays and the non-member buys an economy class ticket and book a discount hotel thru CX holidays "Stay-a-while"? I sometimes do this for trips to Manila, because I find that for some destinations, the cost differences between CX holidays package and separate flight & hotel bookings may not be a big one but can give you instance confirmation for your trip...
Finger crossed and hope these helping you!!! :p

Thanks for the quick reply. The CSO had suggested the non status pax buying a B class ticket + extra hotel as well, but that would come out more or less same expensive as buying business for the 3 of us. :(

1. GO can get seat guarantee on L fare.
2. Can you just get a B for the non-status without hotel? Also try H.
3. Settle the person with no status first. Also try to be more flexible on dates.

Like I said, buying L for the 2 GOs and 1 B/H ticket + hotel stay for the non-status is equally expensive as buying 3 business class packages. :(

Been there, done that. But then flights and hotels are packed in the summer!!!

One question, do all the passengers have to be in the same PNR for a CX Holidays package, or can we have different PNRs?

Kchika,
You know what I am thinking..? Does anyone know that if a Gold or Diamond garentee the seat, say L class, got the seat confirmed... Then cancel the seat of that day and book to another day... Will that guarenteed seat for Gold member be "put back" to L class, or in Y class???
If the seat is back to L class, then your friend (non-member) can get the L class immediately, then you book to that day again and have guarentee seat again???
I know it is not moral, but... is it possible??? :p

I would recommend against it:
* It is not fair for CX staff to do all the work and the passenger ended up cancelling the reservation. The seat guarantee is not done in good faith and the system is abused. In my opinion, if a passenger does seat guarantee, he/she should ticket. If there is unforeseen events that leads to change in flight, that is another issue.
* In any event, if the seat is released, it may not necessary go to the third person. This person may not be the first in the waiting queue. Even if he/she is, there may still be other MPC or OW members who will get the seat.

I appreciate everyone's input. We are waitlisted in economy (L), but confirmed in business (I). The CSO kept telling me that our booking is put at a very high priority, but it still hasn't cleared. Looking at the seat map, I am quite confident that the outbound flight (CX787) will be confirmed but not the inbound one (CX784). Anyway I'll keep calling up CX to get the seats confirmed. Out of curiousity, has anyone used a TA before in booking these packages? Do they get seats confirmed more easily? :-:

We ended up getting 2 L seats for 2 GOs and 1 K seat for the non-status pax. We had to split our booking into two like others have suggested, and had to pay a surcharge of $3,100 to upgrade from L to K class. The CSO at CX Holidays was very helpful, and was able to confirm the morning flight CX785 to DPS. The package was issued yesterday, but unfortunately we didn't end up at the resort we wanted - it was full. :( But again, I appreciate everyone's advice. :D
