Sorry to ask a simple question, but I am not flying on CX often. I made a booking by CX res. I use my BA executive number (not an Asian miles member). I have a five digit CX PNR, but cannot view it. CX claim that they cannot give me the amadeus PNR that I could check on checkmytrip. Is there a way to view my booking, seat plan, etc...?

Unless you made your booking online, I believe you have be an Asia Miles/MPO member in order to view your booking on the CX website.

As far as I know, CX has a very different booking system from other airlines. The 5-digit reference number (they call it record locator in CX) is only used on CX system. So, no matter how you use checkmytrip.com, Galileo View trip, Virtuallythere.com etc etc, you will not be able to view your reservation. No way at all!!
When I book CX flights via CX reservation or MPC office, they only give this 5-digit reference, no other PNR reference they will give. So, I can only check the trip thru MPC member website.
But if you book CX flights thru travel agent, they will give you both CX 5-digit reference and normal PNR that you can check it on viewtrip etc... (I dont know about other travel agents, mine one in Sydney always give me both ref thru email and there is actually a link to viewtrip.com for my booking in that email.)
Other experts, correct me if I am wrong above...
There are 2 possibilities. 1. CX did not use amadeus for your booking, instead it is in galileo or abacus. 2. CX uses its own system. Another airline that does that is LX. I suspect its more of the latter.

For every booking made through CUPID (CX's res system) there will be a RELOC (CX CUPID PNR) and also a corrospnding Airline PNR (if the flight is not under CX). So just call the agent again and they can get that for you.

Thanks all. My booking is only using CX flights. So I guess, they do not generate a PNR, just a RELOC. Hence, I will not be able to find it. However,
I wonder if the CUPID system does not need to assign a PNR too, so that my booking can be viewed under other reservation systems. If not, too bad.

On CX Flights, it will ONLY generate a PNR outside cupid, if it is booked on another system.
eg. Usign a Travel agent with SABRE too book a CX flight, you will get a SABRE PNR and also a RELOC in CUPID.
Actually if you use anyone else other than CX to book your CX flights, you will get a PNR and RELOC as CUPID is a CX internal booking res and it is not a commond platform used by TAs.

If you booked with CX directly, you booked with CUPID and you will not be able to view your reservation unless you have entered a Marco Polo/Asiamiles number. Having any other FFP will not allow you to view your reservation.
If you booked through with say, BA, then you will be given an AMADEUS number which you may view through viewmytrip.com.
