My wife and I are thinking of going to Antigua for Christmas. Any recommendations on a 5* resort? We are thinking about St. James' Club. Anyone been there? Thanks for any advice!

Any recommendations on a 5* resort? We are thinking about St. James' Club. Anyone been there? Thanks for any advice! ohioflyer Jul 19, 07, 4:48 pm I know lots of folks who have stayed at St James Club and had a great time. But it's not a 5* resort--it used to be a Holiday Inn and it gets too many package tourists to have a 5* atmosphere. For true 5*, look into Curtain Bluff. Galley Bay is also a great place to stay. Wherever you choose, please try to get out of your resort and explore Antigua. It's a wonderful island with some great people. And it has some amazing places to eat, if you're not (psychologically) trapped in an all-inclusive resort. Thalassa Jul 21, 07, 1:56 am Jumby Bay might be an option. It is pricey but well-regarded. I would like to endorse both of Ohioflyers recommendations but would like to to provide some more details regarding your preferences in terms of activities and what your expectations are of a resort/hotel. Thalassa made mention of Jumby Bay and while it is pricey it is an amasing property. One small disadvantage to choosing Jumby Bay is that it is located on an island off the coast of Antigua, this makes exploring the island and enjoying the night life a bit of a challenge. I would rather be on the mainland hence the reason why I support Curtain Bluff |
