In October 2007 I will have 2 days to drive from Melbourne to Canberra.

Apart from seeing Yarra Vallay on my way out of Melbourne, what else would be of interest on the way and where is a nice place to overnight (Snowy Mountains?).

Thanks in advance for any input.

That's a good idea; there are two main ways; the other one is about 10 hours total driving via Albury and Yass.

Here's a google maps link: http://maps.google.com.au/?ie=UTF8&ll=-36.75649,147.315674&spn=5.526765,8.151855&z=7&om=1

If taking the Southern route there are some nice places to Stay at Lakes entrance.

FOr the northern route; Albury/Wodonga has many accommodation options.
