Arriving in LAX at 21:10 (on CX880 next March). Departing for Boston at 22:45 (AA192) on same day.

CX will not sell this connection on a single ticket, presumably because there is not enough time to connect.

I currently have the two flights ticketed separately. I am a US citizen with checked bags. Is 1:35 enough time to connect between CX and AA at LAX?

Thanks for any help.

I arrived on the same flight last night. Immigration was quick(green card) but I had to spend 15 minutes with a custom officer who went trough my bags, Actually this is the second time it happened to me, the first time it took 30 minutes and they went through my computer files. Anyway, it is not much time even though AA terminal is 3 mintes away from Cathay arrival. check with AA when they close the flight, I think is one hour before

I heard from my travel agent that CX has a hidden rule of 2 hr spacing when planning connections after an international flight. I could be wrong and she could be full of BS, but thats what I heard.

I've got the same connection in August so I can report back after that. I imagine it'll be tight but doable. Hopefully if we're late arriving LA Cathay staff will be there to rebook me and give me a hotel (if applicable) as opposed to going through immigration/security, missing the AA flight and having to work with staff at that point.

BTW I've got it all booked on one ticket.
