Hi all !

So I recently took a new job where I'm allowed to use a personal credit card for my travel rather than a Corporate AMEX. So I'm saying goodbye to MR and it's $75.00 annual fee.

I've been perusing the MR site and have found some interesting rewards. Among several other items, I'm thinking of grabbing some AMC movie tickets, as you can get 10 for 10,700 points. I noted that these are considered 'GOLD' tickets, but there is no explanation as to what the 'GOLD' means, other than that there are no restrictions on when you can use them; also, they are not considered 'passes' or anything else that might have other restrictions.

So, if you have any experience or feedback on these 'GOLD' tickets, that would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Many of the discounted movie tickets are blacked out for two or so weeks when a movie first opens or are not good on weekends.

I believe the gold coupons are not restricted in this way.

Just wanted to chime in and say, yes, this is correct; the gold coupons are usable at any time.

Appears (http://nationalsales.amctheatres.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/product.display/product_id/8/index.cfm) to be valid on the first day. Amx buys them for $7.5 (probably less) and sells them for $10.7 at $0.01 per point. Happiness all around.

Gold means anytime usage. I redeem for these tickets quite often. I don't feel as bad with these as I do with 10-11 bucks hitting my wallet each time. Interesting that it says you get 10 for 10700 points; I can redeem 4 for 4000 and 10 for 10000. MR Options perhaps?

My local Costco was until recently selling these for $14.99 for two. They are indeed good for any showing, but there's a note that NYC or "AMC Premium" locations may charge a surcharge. I just used my last one for Harry Potter last night.

The Phoenix Costcos now sell Harkins tickets (an Arizona chain) for $14.99 for two.

Do you have to go to the Box Office and exchange them for tickets? Or just walk in to see the show?

You have to exchange the voucher for a ticket to the specific movie you're seeing.
