Starwood Preferred Guest - NYC Midtown Hotel Suggestions

I will be attending a seminar at the AMA office located at 1601 Broadway during September. I have never stayed in midtown before. I am looking at either the Sheraton Manhattan at Times Square or the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers. Both hotels are approximately the same price. Is there a benefit to one over the other? Is there a better choice that I am missing. BTW: I am not interested in the "W". It's over $500 per night.

Adding onto what Cheap Elite mentioned, you can also do a search using a particular hotel e.g., Sheraton Manhatten to see more results. And, he is correct- there are hundreds of threads regarding all of these properties. Please continue your discussion on the most appropriate one. Thanks!
