greetings all,

Just ran across this Centurion promo:

http://www.luxuryresorts.com/exclusive/

Its a free night at any of LXR's properties, in a Deluxe room, with no other stay or spend requirements.

I'm thinking of using this for their NYC property, The London.

Must be used by December 24th, 2007.

Wow - thanks for sharing. In the effort to always decide if it's worth $2,500/year for the card, this certainly helps.

Where did you find this??? Makes me worry that I might be missing other stuff. Many thanks.

I actually found it under the Accounts section, when you click on the card. (Same page as as Pay my Bill)

FWIW - I actually go a promotional mailer a month or more ago for this promotion, and after reading it was genuinely surprised to see no (apparent or visible) gotchas...it seems like a true FREE single day at these various resorts and LXR hotels.

THIS, sportsfans, is a NQA tangible benefit of the CENT program.

AMEX CENTURION has a nice hit (tangible perk w/ no strings attached) here IMO.

Very confuse from the fine print, does it mean you can get up with 3 rooms free ?

If true, this is really some deal!:D

... 3 rooms free ?

I read it to mean that you can reserve up to "two additional" rooms at the negotiated FHR rate.

Same here.

Wanted to check out The London, booked the free night, but cancelled it b/c of ridiculous hold times with the front desk & their inability to locate the reservation. Some other property, perhaps.

May or may not be related, but LXR are owned by Blackstone, the guys who just bought the HH chain.

For those who have already booked a comp. night, what did you reservation e-mail say?

Mine shows the rack rate and in the notes section, "COMP NIGHT."

Thanks for posting this. I never would have known if it weren't for FT. We will be in Florida during December, so plan to take advantage of a night at one of the FL locations.

It would be nice to keep this thread alive with reviews of everyone's free stays.

We're thinking of trying the Key Largo location. Has anyone been there? Other recommendations from the list?

Susan

After a day of major screw-ups by the Centurion travel counselor, I called back to reserve the room at the London. My confirmation said nothing about it being free and listed the room rate. Once again, I had to call back and request they send me the corrected confirmation.

Although my confirmation did say in the notes section, "COMP NIGHT", a quick email to The London revealed:

Mr. bhd87, while we have both reservations, the rate is $699 for both. In order to receive the American Express Centurion Card Member free night, the reservation must be made through an American Express Travel Agency.

Umm.... I emailed them back, telling them that it was booked through Cent. She said her manager will review it when she gets back. She says it could be that the managers manually adjust the rate.

Is this available for non-US account holders?

I don't this it state that specifically in the T+Cs. If your Cent. TA could book a room at a property with "COMP NIGHT" in the notes field, I bet it would work.

I'd love to take advantage of this but no hotels are close to me and I won't be going anywhere anytime soon. I wish they had locations abroad.

Booked NYC London through Cent. Concierge. Took approx. 5-6 mins. In addition, booked the free night with Mandarin in D.C. with a total 2 night stay and confirmed upgrade at booking.

Anyone have any idea as to whether or not additional cardholders can also get a room? I'm planning a trip to NY and I would like to have a separate room for my kids.

Just completed my stay at The London in NYC. In case anyone didn't know, it used to be the Rhiga Royale hotel. Great location, and they gave me a great room, with a king sized (comfortable) bed, and a separate living room with french doors separating it from the bedroom. So, I didn't need to get a separate room for the kids. I got two nights for free, and they treated us very nicely. FHR amenities included free continental breakfast for 2 each day, and free London tea service for 2 once per stay. I also paid for a 3rd night for $499, and was able to stay in the same room for all 3 nights. Note that as mentioned several times before, the paid night was not required.

I'm staying at The London next weekend under this promo. How come they give FHR amenities? They aren't part of the program are they. Also, we are also bringing a child. If they give us a room with a seperate living area does it have a fold out bed?

It seems that they are part of FHR, although they are not in the book or on the website. They had pre-printed material with the amenities on it.

If they give you the separate living room, it doesn't have a fold out bed, but my 10 year old did fine with a roll-in cot.

Ah, I did not know that. I stayed there several years ago when you could use Marriott points. Nice hotel, but I would not have said it was luxury by NYC standards.

It's a bit expensive - $800 for a night in December..!

But free for Centurion holders...

They must have redone it, because I found it to be typical for the luxurious end of a boutique hotel.

Am at the London/NYC now on the free stay. Upgraded to a Vista Suite on the 51st floor with views on three sides - full views to East River and the Park, and a side view over to the the Hudson.

You show your special silver room key to get the tea and free breakfast. Not quite sure why you can't come back for free breakfast again and again with the card unless they change the color from time to time. They never gave me a check, asked for a room number - nothing. At brekfast you get a spectacular continental buffet - for $5 extra you can add a hot entree (I got an omlet and toast). Tea was wonderful. Gratuity is included for both, so there was no charge. Also free wifi for FHR guests. And they have free newspapers galore for all guests (a pet peeve of mine when you get nothing or just USA Today).

The hotel is very high end now - check out their website- it has been totally gutted and redone inside with very luxurious furnishings. Got a 4pm checkout as well.

Bottom line - an amazing deal for free. More importantly for LXR - I will return - the comfort and value is very good for a NYC hotel room.

It sounds like you are as impressed as I was.
One note: They told me about the free wifi for FHR too, but there was no authentication on the wifi at all, so it's obviously free for everyone.

Just had a great free 1 night stay at the London. Got a great, extra large room on 51, instead of a chopped up suite on a lower floor. Rood would have included breakfast for 2, but I didn't use it.

Has anyone stayed in any of the Florida locations? We're in Florida now, but can't decide if we want to be bothered with driving to any of the hotels to spend a night, just for the sake of using the free room.

I am planning on staying at the Naples Grand in early Janaury. It is supposed to be very nice. I hear it's had a great renovation, and it features the Golden Door Spa, which even if you don't splurge for a massage, is a sign that the place must be pretty nice, because that's a top notch spa.

No. I used my free night at the London in NY last week (only 1 allowed in 2007). I am paying cash in January, unless somehow the program magically re-appears. PS: I was told that LXR, or the Naples Grand, was acquired by Hilton (I don't know if you can use HHonnors Points?

So somehow I completely missed this last year and want to make sure I don't miss similar offers in the future.

Am I correct that this promo has not been announced for 2008?
