Travel Technology - Charge gadgets in-flight via audio jack

I'm skeptical how well this would work but it's intriguing. A company has developed a device that claims you can charge your iPod, MP3 player, and/or Blackberry via the audio jack available on most seats, including coach.

I wouldn't mind forking out the $35-50 if I thought it would really do the job. I have an iPod video and I'd love the ability to watch past the 2 hour battery life.

My iPod video lasts at least 10 hours...of course I rarely use the "video," only audio usually.

Video really drains the battery. I can only watch a few hours at most. I'm still skeptical of the claim that they can convert sound into the energy needed to power a video iPod so I'm not going to fork out the $35 to test it out. I already threw away $25 on an iPod wireless FM transmitter that has so much static that it's not worth it.

In the meantime, I did a little research and found a great little gizmo that will extend the video another 7 hours. It has great reviews on Amazon, plus it comes with a clip that I can hopefully use to secure it on the seat in front of me during flights. It takes 4 AAA batteries, which means I can pack a few extra batteries in my carry-on and be good to go.
