Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific - Huge SYD luggage problem

Well got into SYD with no luggage. Aparently back in KRK they tagged 2 extra suitcases to come to SYD, and not with the other family members that were ending in ORD.
So I'm getting 2 extra 25-30kg suitcases. Theres 2 of us in Australia now.
I got SYD-CNS on Qantas and CNS-MEL on Virgin Blue
What can I do with these suitcases? I just can't pay 200AUD/suitcase extra for each flight fee cause of UA and KRK fault.
I think there is a storage in SYD for luggage, but I'm flying MEL-SYD-SFO-ORD-LGR-FRA in one day
MEL-SYD Dept 1115AM Arrive 1235PM
SYD-SFO Dept 240PM Arrive 1100AM
Should that be enough connection tine in SYD to allow me to check those 2 bags?
Would UA allow me to check in from SYD farther the luggage only to ORD (partial luggage check).

Who are you travelling with MEL-SYD ? 2:05 could be tight if you need to recover bags, change terminals & check in.

I did have a reply here, but upon re-reading the OP's post, can't work things out.
Did you purchase 2 extra bags in SYD because your bags didn't turn up? Or did your family's extra 2 bags come over with you accidentally making it 4 bags you have? Or did your bags not turn up, but 2 of your family's bags turn up instead?
I'm all confused...

Lets see if I have this straight.
1) You flew KRK-someplace(s)-ORD-someplace(s)-SYD right through without a stopover.
2) You were travelling with family members travelling KRK-someplace(s)-ORD.
3) Their bags ended up in SYD with you.
4) You have other travel before returning to KRK (via someplaces, ORD and somemoreplaces).
I don't know what I'm missing here, but if airline stuffed up by delivering to the wrong airport then surely it is their responsibility to get them from SYD to ORD?

Correct!
to add to 4, I got SYD-CNs on QF in Y (2 of us); CNS-MEL on DJ Y (2 of us) and the return MEL-SYD-SFO-ORD-LHR-FRA on UA in C but all the bags would be checked only to ORD since we are going to FRA for 2 nights (carryon only)
I got in 3 bags of 4 today but 1 isn't mine.
So 1 wrong and 1 right.
and I told them to add to the note that the hardcase should be shipped to ORD.
the 1 wrong bag weighs 20kg
the other 2 correct bags each weigh 20kg
I'm flying UA MEL-SYD and again to SYD-SFO
They told me since the hotel accepted the 1 wrong suitcase that they cannot take it back and send it to ORD, so basically I'm screwed with at least 1 bag, unless I leave it in the baggage dropoff, but I think 2hrs should be fine since I'll be coming in and out of international terminal. I don't know about going thru passport control?
Also I'm flying C and I'm 1K, so I can use the quick checkin for that 1 suitcase.
Well if QF allows 32Kg/pax 1 bag, thats 64KG total, 4kg under our limit but Ill have to pay the 20AUD.
DJ is a bit different, with 15kg per pax is 30kg, but they seem to use weight and not piece system. If I repack that suitcase, I could put 5kg with the other family member, making then
extra 30AUD and 20AUD
so then I'll be out at least 70AUD.
I think the smart carte charged 12 or 14AUD/24hrs storage and I would have it 5 days there, so almost the same price.
Now I expect UA to pay for this

I got in 3 bags of 4 today but 1 isn't mine. Not yours or not one of your familes ?(some other unknown person ?)
I don't know about going thru passport control?Hmm !! That could be interesting  In MEL you will go through customs & immigration so will have left Aust as far as the authorites are concerned. At SYD you would need to go through immigration to enter Aust again. They may not let you do this. I am 99% sure you cannot do a Aust domestic flight on UA MEL-SYD.
Not worth the risk imho. I would be taking all those bags with you.
Where are you now ??

Not one of mine or my families. Some unknown bag.

Now still in SYD about to go for a tour. I got till the 11th morning, then in flying out to CNS. If its 1 bag as of now, I could be OK taking it, but if the other shows up and is not sent back to the USA, then i'm screwed as the weight limit would ruin me. Now its extra 70 or so AUD with just that one and that if I repack it to other bags makig sure everything is OK

That should be irrelevant, as long as you have not accepted the bag. The airline has not delivered the bag correctly (twice, once to wrong airport and then to hotel). Their mistake - they should redeliver.

They won't do anything about it. Who should I call or talk to to get it fixed?
