Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - YYZ- HKG - Stop in ANC, Does one need a USA Transit Visa

Hello all.

Couple of questions

As the title states, USA transit visa for CX flight YYZ - HKG with that Tech stop in ANC for refuelling (if im correct) does one need it. Im pretty sure all pacs stay on the aircraft during the stop so there then would be no immigration fuss, again im not 100% on that one either or do pacs go through pre USA screening at YYZ and also going from HKG back to YYZ?


Is CX starting YYZ - HKG non-stop.

In the old days when all Asia flights not routed thru HNL had to do
technical stopovers in ANC, all pax had to leave the ac and stay
within a designated waiting area of the airport. No visa was required,
surely that hasn't changed. Duty free was available sometimes, but
sometimes not.
