Thrifty - American Express Gift Card Promo

Rented a car in April 2007 using the Thrifty AX 25 promo.
A 25 dollar American Express Gift Card is supposed to be sent to you.

Never got the card and Thrifty "customer care" says to contact Am Exp
but of course has no number to call.

Has anyone else gotten the card if they used this promo?
Any idea on a contact number?

My understanding from speaking with one of the reservations center supervisors is that you have to use your American Express card to pay for the rental, and when the charge posts to your AmEx card, AmEx sees it and then sends you the gift card with your statement.

Try calling the number on the back of the AmEx card you used to pay for the rental.

According to the press release here (http://www.thrifty.com/about/16095.aspx), the gift card will be sent six to eight weeks after the rental closes.

Other terms and conditions listed there include:
-Minimum three-day rental
-24-hour advance reservations
-Rentals up to 28 days
-Rental must end by 6/30/07

I met all of the requirements.
Thrifty Customer Care ( which seems just like the reservation dept)
says talk to Am Exp .
Am Exp says they have never heard of promo

Customer care is a different department than reservations. They're only open business hours, so I know they're a different department (reservations is 24 hours), although it's not impossible that some of the same people float back and forth. Their number is 877-283-0898. Just wanted to make sure you were calling the right people.

Heck, try emailing or calling the PR guy listed on the press release I linked to. Tell him you're having trouble and want to know who the responsible party is. Maybe he has a contact at AmEx who knows something about the promo.

I figured it would be a long shot to actually receive a gift card, but still tried the AX25 promo as well. I generally have good experiences renting with Thrifty as long as I don't have to deal with CS. I have always found that they are unresponsive and/or uninformed. Personally, I would not count on receiving anything here and wouldn't waste your time trying to track it down for $25. If you have any luck though let me know.

That said, I did receive double rental credits each time I used the AX25 promo, so at least I got something out of it.
