Here is just a crazy idea I had.

I used to seach for "ELP" to see if anyone was crazy enough to venture into this city, but I am not able to do so anymore.

And from moderating OMNI in the past, I was used to seeing posts like

You are an ******* and a ***** that should ***** and *****

The **** sometimes come from the censor, a list of words that once a post is submitted, are replaced by those convenient *****

Could the same be done for airport codes, if I enter "ELP" the censor, replaces it with "AIRPORT_ELP" or "AIR_ELP", or something to that extent?

I am not saying to make it retroactive, but that would make it possible, transparent, and consistent for everyone to be able to search for airport codes.

Anyways, just a thought ;)

The censor doesn't replace partial words ;)

I can put jhhsoifdkjsdkjshitkjfdsoioifd and the four letter word in there is not replaced ;)

shitake

So I see. Hmm still leaves an issue for some airport codes that are also words, such as

ADD
AFT
AIM
ALL
BAY
BEG
BET

and airport codes that are also a common abbreviation, such as

ATC
BIS

All I'll say is s......ing and S....horpe

A special case was made for the four letter word jfe tried, because it occurs commonly in place names in Japan

We could all switch to ICAO codes. Much harder to remember though.
