I will be staying a week in Reseach Triangle Park and wanted peoples' opinion on the best Hilton property there. My concerns are mainly a good breakfast, good internet and a nice comfortable room.
I tried a quick forum search but nothing in the past year on the area that I could find.
Thanks!

They're threads available. Try searching Raleigh and/or Durham. Personally, I like the RDU Hilton and the Doubletree in Durham, on a lake...nice setting. The Embassy Suites on Crabtree isn't bad either.

I like the Hilton Garden Inn at RDU. Free high speed internet, breakfast, and Bed by Hilton. I've never had any noise issues from the airport, either.

I would recommend the RDU Hilton.

Agree. This is a decent property. I live in the area but I've stayed there a couple of times when I had an early flight and the possibility of iffy winter weather.

Pass on the RDU Hilton (Internet's not free and it was crappy the last time I was there) and go for the Homewood Suites on Miami Blvd. My company HQ is on Ellis and that's where I prefer to stay. They've got a Manager's Reception every night and a pretty decent breakfast with omelet station. You're not far from Southpoint Mall which has a large number of restaurants and is a great place to get out of the hotel and stroll.

Traffic down there can be pretty heavy during rush hour which almost lasts all day or so it seems to me --- I'd work backwards from where you have to be and find something near by.

I usually stayed at Hilton Garden Inn as it is next to the airport so in and out of RDU is easy and it is near freeway to go anywhere. The nicest I've stayed is Embassy Suites at Cary. It is a bit far from my work but the room is pretty nice.
The Hampton Inn and Suites for I40 RBC Center http://hamptoninn.hilton.com/en/hp/hotels/index.jhtml;jsessionid=G4H1ME1GYYI1KCSGBIWM22Q?cty hocn=RDUCYHX
is probably the nicest HI that I have stayed in. Clean, friendly staff, booze and snacks at happy hour. Great local BBQ plce close by on Chatham. I think it was called Old Time or something similar.

I liked the Embassy Suites in Cary. Stayed there twice. And it's fairly close to the freeway.

Stayed 2 nights at the HGI Southpoint. Nothing tremendously out of the usual, but very nice staff, well organized breakfast, etc. Lots of shopping and all kinds of the restaurants in the area, and a Ruth's Chris is hooked onto the hotel.
I've stayed at the Doubletree, Embassy Suites and Hilton all in the RTP area and they were just all OK. The Hilton was more like a Hilton Garden Inn feeling. Doubletree and Embassy were your typical Doubletree and Embassy (a little outdated). But one thing to keep in mind is that the Embassy in Raleigh Durham is not participating in Hilton's Q3 promo. One hotel I did enjoy, although it was out of the way was Hilton North Raleigh. About 20 miles out. But it has an executive lounge and pretty updated. Just far.

I am in RTP many times a year and prefer the Hampton Inn Brier Creek. They just finished an ES on same property.

If Breakfast is a big deal I would say the Homewood on Miami, but I still think Homewood breakfast isn't that great and also it's summer time so Homewood will be full of kids otherwise If you have the money go for the ES the new one I think it's Briar creek.

I'll add my vote for the RTP Hilton. It's my favorite place to stay when we travel to Raleigh. No lounge, but still getting breakfast vouchers as a diamond.

Several good properties, for sure, many of them listed above. I tend to rotate. I like the HL Raleigh North during football season for the sports bar that's attached (nice Exec Lounge too, not glitzy but well-stocked), the DT in Durham (quiet, a tad remote, nice to run around the lake), the RDU Hilton for it's location, obviously (and revamped gym, thankfully), and the HGI Southpoint for it's proximity to the Southpoint Mall. I also like the HL in Durham.

I just stayed at the Embassy Suites in Cary. It was a slightly above average Embassy Suites hotel, nothing terribly special, but nothing awful either. The bed was very comfortable and the housekeeping was good. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Overall, I was happy with it.
The only disappointing thing was the TINY closet, barely big enough for one person. Fortunately, I was staying alone, but I would have been disappointed if I had my whole family.
