I'm curious to see everyones opinion on whether or not it would be wise to switch from amex plat to DC carte blanc. the fact that carte blanc is $150 cheaper is what really what is making me consider switching. are there any advantages to amex plat over DC which really warrant the $150 extra/yr? i'm curious as i know my new $450 plat fee is coming in soon... I'd do the research myself, but many of you seem much more savy at this type of stuff than me.

I don't play golf, or fly BA much so only briefly considered the CB card. From personal experience ever since DC mergered with MC 9(i the US and Canada) the service went downhill. So I for one will not upgrade my CD to CB & happy to keep my Amex Plat. But I never had a CB card so i can't comment on the differences between the two. Onlu used Amex conierge service a few times but never DC's or CB's obviously.
If you use the Platinum Card airport lounge benefit for domestic travel on CO, DL or NW it is probably worth the premium because Diners Club lounge network includes only two US airports: EWR and MIA. If you do not use the lounge benefit I would consider changing to Diners Club because the annual fee is only $95 and there is a 12,000 point introductory bonus credited 1,000 per month. After the first year you could look at changing to Carte Blanche which requires the higher fee but offers no enrollment bonus.
