I did a search before this new thread and can't believe nothing popped up. I'm venting - ordered service, waited three days for installation, got it up and running, they then suspended/cancelled service and no reason giving.

After three day, 300 plus of my mobile minutes burned, talking to Verizon in three countries, 3 states, got through to the right department, but still didn't get reason for termination. Finally reached 'order status', they didn't give explanation, other than I have to put in new order.

So, now I wait for July 10th activation date. In the meantime I have also placed order with Time Warner Road Runner Internet cable service....to see if they can get service up quicker. One of them hopefully will work.

Verizon service and support is the worst - anyone know who/how to route a strong letter....although probably no use.

I feel you! I had Verizon DSL for 6 months. I think about 3 of those months we didn't have service. First of all, when you call for tech support, always say "Mac" and not PC. That'll guarantee that you'll speak to someone in the USA.

Secondly, every time you call, ask to speak to the supervisor, and as soon as they pick up, ask to speak to their supervisor. They usually are good about transferring. Make sure that you write down everyone's names and that they're keeping notes in their system.

When I canceled them, finally, for Time Warner, they looked at their notes and didn't charge me a termination fee. They also credited every month that we didn't have service. But Verizon is not a good ISP. Their technology (pre-FiOS) is outdated as well. Time Warner is much, much better. And with their Dish Buyback offer, you can get them to match your Dish+Verizon service price, give you $200 cash back and get the 1st month free.^ And they're faster by a lot!

Signed up with road runner and they're coming july 6th for activation. Verizon won't return until july 10th so hopefully i'll be set up and on-line before then, and can cancel.

But I'd still like to know how to write to some senior verizon management dept re their terrible customer service.

Off topic - i wish all the new iPhone owners luck with ATT :)

I've got Verizon FIOS & the tech support has been great. So if FIOS comes to your neighborhood, go for it.

I was originally going to go w/ Time Warner, but when they took over Adelphia out here in LA they totally bollocked up the merging, etc. The head of the LA area got his butt fired & they had to add on 250 cust service reps. Evidently their internet was really problematic - people out for hours or days, and on hold for 1-2 hours w/ tech support before they even got to a human being.

Verizon is publicly traded. You could always write the CEO or upper management at WHQ.

Cheers.

But I'd still like to know how to write to some senior verizon management dept re their terrible customer service. You could do this, but they will probably respond with a pitch to upsell additional services to you.

I got a survey from them (I have Verizon DSL - service is good, email is worse than awful) asking a number of questions about the service and leaving blank space for comments. So I blasted their email program. A couple of weeks later, I received a response from their marketing department stating, "Based on your feedback, we've tailored our offering just for you." And then there was a list of additional services I could add-on to my account.

So be forewarned.
