Just trying to book a MR on LX, and getting very vexed, so I thought I'd check here for sanity.

The routing is LCY-GVA-ZRH-MUC-ZRH-LHR. Outbound on a Saturday, return on a Sunday. Target booking class is J, fare basis JSWISSUK. Expertflyer claims J avails on all flights, fare rules seem to allow this routing.

The "new" Swiss website won't let you build sector-by-sector, so I've been using Lufthansa's website.

I can get LH to calculate the correct J fare for LCY-ZRH-MUC-ZRH-LHR (UKP398 ish), but if I stick the GVA-ZRH segment in, it changes basis to D class (which is very ugly at GBP800 ish).

Any pointers from those in the know who have booked a MR on LX? (Or maybe what I'm trying isn't allowed - I'm just trying to build a 10k+ MR)

A big disadvantage of the LX-website is that you cannot book difficult multi-segment journeys.

When the LX-homepage does not offer an itinerary via GVA-ZRH automatically, you have to call LX and book your flights by phone, or contact a Travel-agency.

What you try to book should be possible in J.

It's a simple BRU-ZRH-STR-ZRH-BRU in J. I tried to book on lh.ie, and it works all fine, until after you put in the payment details. Then claims that fare is not valid.

I could book fine on swiss.com.

Are you sure you can't get the LCY-GVA-ZRH-MUC leg to show by selecting the correct timings?

If I remember it right the Austrian Airlines AirManager allows you to do alot of those things.
Give it a try.

From the UK, try also opodo.co.uk or even expedia, you never know...

As this question is LX specific, I'll move it to the Swiss subforum.
