I want to first of all admit that this is a wild shot, but with the Hawaiian Airlines option shut down for moving AMEX MR to Hilton Honors now closed I have been desperate for another option.
I value the knowledge that so many of you have given over the years so I am wanting to run this past some of you.
It appears to me that as a member of the AMEX MR program that one can move Membership rewards points to Mexican's Frecuenta program on a one to one basis. (See posting from Webite below- as of today)
1 Membership Reward point = 1 Frecuenta Mile. From 5-8 working days after having requested transfer to Membership Rewards. To make transfers you must be registered with the Frecuenta program.
Transfers only apply on accounts from member to member.
Minimum transfer is 1,000 points.
Cards issued in Mexico and the United States. Not applicable[/B][/B][/B]
It then appears that one can then transfer the Frecuenta Miles out to Hilton Honors on a two for one basis just like it used to be possible with Hawaiian.
(See posting from Website- taken as of today)
5,000 Frecuenta Miles = 10,000 Hilton HHonors® points
10,000 Frecuenta Miles = 20,000 HHonors points
40,000 Frecuenta Miles = 80,000 HHonors points 7 business days alter requesting transfer from Frecuenta's Customer Service Center. To make transfers you must be a Hilton Honors member.
Transfers only apply from member to member.
Transfers apply according to specific Miles accumulated[/B]
Does Mexicana have a ban on miles that come in from AMEX MR being able to be converted to Hilton Honors as Hawaiian does? I have just never seen the Mexican option mentioned anywhere before.
Thanks for your assistance.
