So, does anyone know if the SAA Africa AirPass needs to be booked at the same time as your intercontinental ticket?
Could I just buy a JFK-DUR,CPT-JFK ticket right now off flysaa.com and then later call up the reservations centre to book the AirPass flights?

AFAIK yes (to the 2nd question, no to the 1st one) - you need to hold a valid ticket on SA or any other *partner to be able to book the AirPass. Here's a link:

I just had a quick glance at their prices and you might be better off (not by much though) buying the segments you need on www.flysaa.com using the SaverFares.

Here you go:
Book and have your ticket issued and than any *Alliance office should be able to book and issue the AfricanAirpass for you. Simple as that, you don't even need a SAA office for it.
