My parents will be staying at the Marriott in Aruba this summer and as a present for their 40th annviersary, I would like to buy them a gift certificate to a wonderful restaurant so they can have a great meal and dining experience. What do you think is the top restaurant in Aruba?

I can't say it'd the finest dining in Aruba, but the Marriott there offers dining on the beach at sunset and that might be a nice evening on their trip (I believe the name is Simply Fish).
Ristorante Tuscany at the hotel looked and smelled wonderful as well.
I've also heard great things about Madame Jeannettes and El Gaucho.

I wouldn't recommend El Gaucho for an anniversay dinner, it has a casual feel to it. For a more intimate dining experience and better food, I would recommend Madame Janette's, Marandi's or even the "Romantic Dinner" at Bucuti. PM me for more information.

La Trattoria El Faro Blanco, you can't beat the location. The food is good too!

Actually, here's the places we recommended to our guests. I agree El Gaucho is more casual than some of the others.
El Gaucho
This Argentine steak house, located in a remodeled old Aruban house, is an institution here in Aruba. The seafood is very good, but the steak is better.
Reservations are necessary.
80 Wilhelminastraat

Papiamento
Situated in the Ellis family home, a 175-year old authentic Aruban manor and old plantation. We like to eat outside in the poolside garden area. You can also eat inside one of the air-conditioned rooms. The menu, which offers cuisine with a touch of Aruba, includes fresh seafood specialties served on a hot stone (let your food finish cooking!).
Reservations recommended.

Madame Jeanettes
A fusion of cuisines of northern Europe and the Caribbean. Not something you would think should work, but it really is good!
Reservations recommended.
Cunuco Abao 37

Ruinas del Mar
A romantic setting and great food. We prefer the tables outside on the patio. If you eat inside, bring a sweater – the air conditioning is always on high! The menu has a lot of seafood, but there is something for everyone.
Reservations recommended.
Hyatt Hotel
(297) 586-1234
Swiss Chalet
This alpine chalet restaurant has the feel of an old-fashioned Swiss dining room. Plenty of Swiss and German standards – beef stroganoff, wiener schnitzel, apple strudel, Toblerone chocolate fondue. I like the Zuricher Geshnetzeltes but can’t pronounce it. As you can tell, the food is a bit heavy so go early and plan to share!
Reservations recommended.

My 2 suggestions are:
Pinchos- it's over the water at the end of a pier. Romantic, beautiful view. Good food.
Papiamento- as previously mentioned, the tables by the pool are in a wonderful setting. Also good food.

Looks like I may be to late to post this but....
The Radission Resort offers private dining on the beach. They set up a table on the beach with 2 torch's lights. If I recall they had 2 seatings; One at 7pm and another at 9:30pm. You get a personal waiter and a nice menu to chose from. They also had extra's you could include when making your reservation including a photographer and flowers.
Call the resort and they will fax you a form to fill out and fax back to them.
