There are so many tools on the internet to search for and buy fares, only the most committed among us could ever know them all and ever be sure of always getting the lowest available fare, make the smartest decisions, etc.
Given that those committed experts do exist here on FT, it seems to me that there should be a forum where the average FT member could ask the FT experts for advice on fare shopping. According a moderator I communicated with recently, no such forum exists on FT. I find it difficult to imagine why that is so, given the size of this forum.
One reason offered to me is "Flyer Talk is not a travel agency." Aside from pointing out the painfully obvious, asking for help in shopping for tickets on FT is *not* tantamount to FT being a travel agency.
So it seems to me it would be a great service to FT members to give us a forum to ask for fare shopping help when it comes to no specific airline or no specific hotel.
Can this be done? I see no reason not to have a "help me shop" type of forum.
