Hi - just want to know if anyone has flown the KQ 320 flight from NBO-CAI via Khartoum. Do pax get off at Khartoum and then get back on or do they just sit in the plane? Do they really check for transit visa related to Sudan?

KQ320 - if you are flying through to Cairo, you are not allowed off the plane. Also you do not need a transit visa for Sudan. The transit on the ground does get hot and stuffy depending on the time of year.

Do they make a specific check in NBO for Israeli stamps?

I've taken this flight a few times.
It is OK Northbound, you stay on the ground in KRT for an hour or so, if you are continuing to CAI you must stay on board.
Many people get off in KRT and many new pax get on as well, in fact the loads are pretty high on this route, both in J and Y.

The South-bound is a killer, departing around midnight, landing in the middle of the night in KRT and then arriving early early in NBO.

Not sure about the Israeli stamps.

Do you remember if they went thru each page of your passport or just checked for page with the Egypt visa. do you remember if they asked other pax if they went to Israel? So there is no examination of passport by the Sudanese at all. thanks for your input.

Moving this to the African airlines forum.

As said I flew from NBO to CAI via KRT and back again.
Because I did not get off in KRT, there was no inspection at all of my passport by Sudanese authorities.

I was on K320 last year. From my experience, they will look for entry visas during check-in.

Just be aware that if you have an Israeli stamp in your passport, you will might not be able to enter (most) Muslim countries. So regardless if they didn't spot the stamp at check-in, you might have some trouble entering your destination

You want to go where?

True, but Egypt is a clear exception to this rule. Egypt does not have problem with Israeli stamps in the passport. But since UA Fan is flying to Cairo via Sudan, there was concern about whether Sudan checks passports, because UA Fan is assuming (wisely) that they might have a problem with the Israeli stamp. Since it seems that Sudan does not check passports of transitting passengers, he was also concerned about whether the airline might stop him before he got on the plane. Since you have suggested that they don't look for the stamp at check-in, and they don't look for it in Sudan, it sounds like UA Fan is OK.

Egypt is definitely a clear exception to this rule. Don't forget, there are direct TLV-CAI flights, and you can even enter Egypt on an Israeli passport. It's probably not the smartest thing you could do, but it's possible nevertheless.

As for Sudan - since UA Fan would be continuing directly to Cairo, he will never even see a Sudanese immigration official. And that he would be technically inadmissible to Sudan would not matter, because as long as he stays on the plane he is not legally on Sudanese soil. If it were any different, KQ could not allow any Egypt-bound pax on board the plane if they did not have a Sudanese visa.

UA Fan, you'll be fine, an Israeli stamp will not sink your travel plans in this case.

Moving this to the African airlines forum.

Shouldn't it be in Flying Blue forum though? I'm not sure how your policy is, I'm just curious.
