I am flying SEA-ICN (economy) at the end of this month and was wondering if either OZ or KL was markedly better than the other. The only time I flew either airline was 12 years ago from SEL-SEA on OZ.

I have more United miles than Delta miles, but that's more of a tie-breaker than anything else. The ticket prices are pretty much the same for both.

So any compelling reason I should choose one over the other? Thanks!

KLM = KL, KOREAN = KE , so you would know..hehe

Well, I tried OZ and KE a couple of times and I always go for OZ for better service and better food. I'm not sure whether SEA gets new Y class but I doubt it gets new Y. In this case, I would choose OZ again for PTV haha.

p.s : It's my personal opinion but FAs on OZ look much better than those of KE's. It could be a complelling reason for someone haha.

Not sure about KE, but I did ICN -SEA on OZ recently and was impressed. Decent food, nice new plane and good FAs.

As a frequent flyer of both OZ and KE, I can say that it's really hard to pick which one to fly on. Both airlines has AVOD/PTV on the ICN-SEA route and also both of them has great seats, meals and service. Well if you ask me, I actually would pick KE because its IFE is a little better than OZ (I'm 100% sure that it's AVOD, but for OZ I don't know if it's AVOD or PTV for SEA route. Even if it's AVOD, KE got more choices of movies and programmes and also they have bigger screens^ ). Also KE's seats are wider and more comfortable than OZ's. For the meals and service, they are pretty much the same.

Well it all depends on you. Both airlines offer great products and services. Perhaps you may pick by their frequent flyer program/ alliance. (StarAlliance or SkyTeam)

Have flown both on this route and agree with prev poster. Not much difference. Both fine. KE I believe has just slightly more selection for AVOD content, but both are pretty limited when it comes to actual interesting program content! I can't remember which, but in C, one of them does a midflight noodle bowl that's slightly better than the other's -- I think KE wins on this one.

Thanks everyone for the input. I am going to fly on KE (thanks for the correction). Looking forward to going back to Korea for the first time in 12 years!

I was also wondering, what kinds of alcohol does KE serve on Y? Are FAs pretty generous w/ refills? The reason I ask is b/c alcohol helps me fall asleep faster - and I'll definitely need that for a 11h flight. :)

That's one of my problems with KE Y class. The alcohol service is miserly to put it diplomatically. You're lucky if you can squeeze two drinks out of the FA's over the duration of the flight. That said, I'm sure you can get a couple drinks if you want them, you'll just have to put in a little extra effort.
