According to today's Gulf News, GF is loooking to fly to the two cities.

There is also a reconfirmation that flights to Dublin, Hon Kong, Jakarta, Johannesburg, Sydney and Singapore will be discontinued.

Probably Gulf Air's new Swiss CEO wants a direct and cheap flight home...;)

This is the strangest thing I've ever heard. GF is draining down most of its long-haul services (Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Johannesburg) and it wants to start services to cities that aren't exactly the most important in their respective regions. GF should think about rebuilding itself locally and restoring its old services before it even THINKS doing 2 new destinations.
