Is there anyway around the 100k miles/yr milage cap for AAdvantage MC?

The 100,000 mile cap is waived for AAdvantage elite members. AAdvantage Executive Platinum® members, AAdvantage Platinum® members and AAdvantage Gold® members are excluded from these limits. The normal way to earn AAdvantage Gold is to fly 25,000 miles or earn 25,000 points in a calendar year.

just open a new AA CITI MC & get the bonus miles & a fresh go at 100K miles ^

I don't fly that much a year to get to elite status, but I spend around 500k, and would like to get the miles for it. So if I don't fly, I am out of luck?

...and once you have hit 1 million lifetime points, you will have AAdvantage Gold which will remove the cap.

So, get 4 more Citi AAdvantage cards and after 2 years you will no longer have the cap.

1. You would do well to read the thread I recommended above which explains how to earn AAdvantage Gold elite status with very little flying.

2. It's counterintuitive, but Citi AAdvantage cards are actually not the best way to earn AAdvantage miles. Citi offers attractive enrollment bonuses, but then spending $1 = 1 mile. The Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card by American Express allows you to convert $20,000 spending into 25,000 AAdvantage miles (or to many other airlines), and to my knowledge there is no annual cap.

3. Citi also owns Diners Club, and Diners Club Mastercard points can also be converted to AAdvantage miles (or to many other airlines) with no caps.

with the spg amex you can earn as many miles as you want but i think you can only transfer 99,999 spg point to any given airline in one year.

If you charge $500K to your personal card. Open a Citigroup Private Bank account. They will issue you Citibank Private Bank Select Visa card. That credit card has no mileage cap either and no annual fee.

Deposit $100K into Citibank retail account and get a Citigold account. With a Citigold account you can have annual fee waived on all your AA MC that you are primary card member on. Plus Citigold waives the annual fee on Diners Club too which has promo once in a while of transfering miles into AA.
