MilesBuzz! - Which airline should I use for a ff tix in USA?

I plan to fly from Seattle to NYC (LGA, JFK or NWK) in 3 weeks. I would like to use a free ticket, but am limited on the times/days I can travel. Also, I would prefer a nonstop. I have enough miles in United, Delta, AA, NWA, Continental, Starwood (which can transfer to many airlines), Alaska, and USair. I'm hoping I can do it on a 20K or 25K mile award... or split the ticket between two airlines. Does anyone know which airlines offer the 20K reward? Also, are there airlines where I can just get a one way tix for 10-13K miles? Thanks in advance!

When you close two of these threads make sure to keep in mind that the "closings" will be held against you http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Bear in mind that a Starwood transfer would take about 4 weeks to clear, i.e. outside your 3 week window.

I'm not aware of any airline that will do a One-way ticket for half the mileage, but for routing purposes..AA flies nonstop into JFK, and CO flies nonstop into EWR. You can use AS miles for either of those airlines (25K)

And the more important question...why do you have your miles all over the place like that? You could collect AS miles for all your AS, NW, CO, and AA flights.

I'm sure that this is something that you don't want to hear, but SEA-NYC is a pretty common route, to which you won't get the value (4c / mile) for your points.

What about www.jetblue.com (http://www.jetblue.com) ?

Oct 5, 6, 8, 9 , each way SEA-JFK comes out @ $134 each way. Eastbound flights are redeyes, Westbound flights are evenings (8pm). They're all non-stop... If my memory serves me correctly, the only Continental(?) goes nonstop SEA-EWR ??

Couple more things to think about...

KLM's Flying Dutchman program (good for free flights on NorthWest too) offers (only) one-way-flight awards.

CO will (for a limited time) let you book a reward ticket for 20k miles if you use their web site to do so. Even if you're only using half of the ticket 20k miles is still better than 25k.

For a one-way like this, it's best to pay cash.

Non-stops are available SEA-JFK on the following airlines for $144 - $149 (one way, including tax):

United
American
Delta
Alaska (operated by AA)
JetBlue

My suggestion would be to fly any of these where you'd want to accrue more miles. AA for MRTC seems to be a good choice since you have an AA/AS account.

The thought of burning 20,000 - 25,000 miles for a $144 ticket makes me cringe.

I agree with those that are advising you to just buy a ticket. However, were your travels to include an open jaw and/or stopover, then it would make sense to burn miles. AA awards are particularly nice because each award allows a stopover AND an open jaw, meaning you could do something like SEA-LAS-NYC-<open leg>-MSY-SEA all for 25K miles.
