Emirates Skywards - OT: 8 hours stopover in Dubai

Hello, I will have 8 hours stopover (betweem 6am and 2pm) in DXB next Friday. Not really want to sit the airport all that time so I think of making a short tour around the town/center.

What sights and highlights would you recommend to see?

I was i n Dubai 10 years ago but I guess it is a different world now.

Are you flying in Business/First?

If you do a quick search on this forum, I know you will find a lot of suggestions. An 8-hour layover could be enough to do something but you also don't want to get stuck in traffic on a Friday (first day of the weekend).
