Hilton HHonors - Doubletree Golf Resort San DiegoView Full Version : Doubletree Golf Resort San Diego pitsheel Mar 7, 03, 4:10 am Did a search on this hotel, didnt find any information... do they have a towers/executive floor? 777 global mile hound Feb 8, 06, 11:36 am Hello my fellow HH critics how is it ? Any good? Did a search found no reports Thanks Hotel_junkie Feb 9, 06, 12:52 am The Doubletree is actually in the Carmel Mountain area, very near to the largest collection of strip malls in the area (including a Costco, a Home Depot and most importantly, the In-N-Out Burger!). I used to drive by it all the time on my way to the Costco. Unless you get a great rate there, there isn't really anything redeeming about it. Like what other posters have noted, it's pretty far inland, and very far from downtown SD. It's even about 15 miles from the nearest coastline (Del Mar Beach/Carmel Valley). There are much better located Hiltons throughout the San Diego/La Jolla region (ES La Jolla, DT Carmel Valley, HI Carmel Valley, Hilton Del Mar, Hilton Torrey Pines, etc.) So like I said before you have to have a very compelling reason to stay at the DT Golf Resort (price, friends/family nearby, LUV golf, etc.). 777 global mile hound Feb 9, 06, 6:49 am The Doubletree is actually in the Carmel Mountain area, very near to the largest collection of strip malls in the area (including a Costco, a Home Depot and most importantly, the In-N-Out Burger!). Agree ^ Thank you for the post They were helpful on the phone. If the rate is agreeable I will absolutey go out of my way and use them. I have a negotiated rate in an excellent downtown hotel at 147 per nite. No points, miles and stay credit however and it does me no good earning elite status. I am back as a Diamond with Hilton and I am looking forward to being back in the program indefinately provided they don't destroy valuation of award redemption with the upcoming June changes. If they do I will get out of the program and buy only by price.I am very uncomfortable from the doubling and tripling of rates in many cities.I have to manage the cost of 175 nights this year including air, transportation, and food and beverage. It is taking tremendous efforts to balance the budget! 777 global mile hound May 29, 07, 12:46 pm The Hilton website shows rates From 107.10 at this property USD / night then when one clicks this is what you see. Having never stayed there before is this really a 900 dollar a nite resort with no bed? Just curious. It is the suburbs of California after all. sdcarver Aug 23, 07, 3:47 pm Having stayed here several times, when did they start charging $8/night for parking and why? Just curious.
