Other Hotel Programs - Anyone know how to get FPC Gold?

Hi,

I am a frequent traveller but did not stay at any Fairmonts last year since none were where i travelled. I used to be FPC plat and Gold, and wondering if anyone knows a way to get automatic Gold status. I know that there are ways (amex platinum for example) to get Gold in other programs.

I am planning on visiting quite a few places this year with Fairmonts.

Gold was renamed Premier a few years ago. I don't know of any way to get it for free, but the benefits are minimal (they were cut several years ago, though the Platinum benefits were cut much more) so you're not missing much. I believe you get 1 one-category upgrade and 1 suite upgrade per year, plus a free night with two paid nights. Most Fairmonts no longer offer free upgrades to members with status, so that's about it.

The remaining benefits of value are available to all FPC members regardless of status.

Diner's club mastercard offers accelerated status. You get premier after only 3 stays rather than the usual 5. I don't think it is worth the effort but you asked. :)
