I'm trying to book a flight for 7 days outs, this coming Thursday, using my Juniper companion cert. The csr on the gold line thought there was a restriction so checked on it and got one supervisor to say it was fine, but then needed an authorization code and got a new super who said no. I was on hold for 30-40mins to find out it couldn't happen.

Has anyone been succesful at this? I didn't have the cert to see it was in the T&C, I'm sure it is. I don't want to waste another hour on the phone to find out it is truly impossible. any insight would be great.

Thanks!

Thats correct if I remember well. Doesn't hurt to try calling again, just limit the time you want to spend.

I was able to, back in December. We were flying out on the 27, and we ticketed on the 18th.

The tickets were so hight, it was either to companion ticket that would go thru or not going. We were succesful and got a sweet deal. for FLL/PBI. My suggestion to you, would be put this on hold, and go out to your local airport to ticket this. Its what I've been always doing. They tend to be a little nicer/+ more flexible since they see you've made an effort to go out and visit them. Oh and, the the heaps of passengers factor will make them move mountains sometimes so they can move you out of their sight since they're desperately busy. I always say, Win-Win-Win.

Good Luck w/ your booking.

I tried a couple of more times. 1 agent couldn't figure out how to use the star code, the other one initiated the conversation with "You must be booking at least 14 days in advance". I wonder if they noted my account.

Anyway I think US will lose another flight from me as Jet blue's price isn't that much more expensive than US' using the cert and a lot less hassle.

It is sad that for flights from BOS-PHX 3 other carriers come in much lower than US Air, making US Air only worth while on a companion cert.

In the paragraph just above the certificate number, it clearly says 14 day advance purchase required ... so unless you get a nice (or uneducated) res agent, you're SOL

It only took me 45 minutes to book 6 weeks out within the rules.... I can only imagine how long it would take not following the rules!!!!

I really feel bad for the CP hotline since it took 3-4 calls for help.... it doesn't have to be this way....
