Hilton HHonors - Apart Hotel ZRH "managed by Hilton" - Hilton or no Hilton?!

Just checked into the above hotel. My not-so-high expectations have been fully met (well, they do have WiFi). What I do not understand is that, for all intents and purposes, this is a Hilton-branded property without any HHonors benefits whatsoever. Whilst the internet booking depicted the place as "Apart Hotel managed by Hilton" (so no disappointments there), it started with the cab driver who could not place "Apart Hotel" but knew very well where the "Hilton Airport" was located. It continued at the property itself - everything there is Hilton branded (key card, brochures, Hilton trademark all over the place, etc.).

I certainly do not have a problem with getting "Apart" in an Apart hotel, but I believe the outrageous Hilton branding of this place is really setting HHonors clients up for big disappointments!

I was thinking of staying last year as their rates are MUCH cheaper than the Zurich Airport Hilton next door, but they told me I get no benefits as a diamond, and earn no pionts...

How did you book that property? It doesnt even show up on the web site....or at least didnt the last time I booked it. I had never even heard of it until I stayed at the Hilton Hotel and the shuttle van stopped at the other location coming and going from the Hilton.

Interesting. I was wondering what that hotel was when we stayed at the Hilton right there next door.

The Hilton reservationists on the phone never heard of it either. But we just stayed at the Airport Hilton and the shuttle stops at the apart hotel first. It certainly LOOKS like a Hilton. It is the first time I have ever seen a "managed by Hilton" hotel that is not Hilton. I see at least one of the new resorts on its way is also "managed by Hilton." It sure is cheaper and I would have stayed in a minute had it given points. From my recent experiences (so-called rate guarantee, dropped Senior HHonors, etc) I would say it can only get better with Blackstone.
